Our History

Our founder and President, Joseph (Joe) Newman began as a company driver, following in his father’s footsteps. In 1984, Joe purchased his first truck and became an owner operator at the age of 21, starting what would later be known as Newman Carriers.

Throughout the next two decades, he successfully ran and excelled in his owner operator role, learning aspects of the chemical trucking industry that can only be learning by hands-on experience. In 2005, he stepped out of the truck and into the office to further his knowledge of the industry and grow Newman Carriers. He was joined early on by his youngest son, Jake, and later by his other sons David and Josh, creating the third generation in the industry. As a family run business, Newman Carriers has evolved from humble beginnings with just one truck to become a premier chemical carrier in the 48 continental US states and Canada.

We specialize in transporting a diverse range of products, including liquid chemicals for manufacturing plants and water treatment facilities, resins for manufacturers, and petroleum products for wholesalers. Each of these products demands specialized trailers and highly skilled personnel to ensure their safe and efficient handling during transit.

Archview Tank Wash

In addition, our Fairmont City, IL location features an on-site Tank Wash facility operated by Archview Tank Wash. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped to handle the cleaning and maintenance of our tank trailers, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for transporting a wide variety of products.

Prompt and Efficient

With terminals strategically located in East St. Louis, IL, and Kankakee, IL, Newman Carriers provides safe and reliable transportation services tailored to meet our customers’ daily requirements. Our fleet boasts over 85 late-model power units and 180 specialized tank trailers, enabling us to fulfill a wide array of transportation needs promptly and efficiently.
